Eligibility Requirements
Typically, applicants hold:
- One year of graduate level biostatistics and one year of epidemiology or other research methods training with a B or better.
 - Demonstrated superior academic performance
 - Experience in research settings preferred, and the ability to engage in quantitative or qualitative research
 
Admissions Process
Complete applications contain the following, with a January 1, 11:59pm (EST) priority deadline and May 1, 11:59pm (EST) final one:
- Submitted application and nonrefundable $80 fee 
 - A master's degree in public health or a master’s degree in biostatistics, epidemiology, economics, or other discipline with quantitative training OR a PharmD, MD, or other relevant doctoral degree. A master’s degree is not required for those who have recently completed a Postbaccalaureate Research Education Program.
 - Unofficial transcripts from any college attended
 - A personal statement of two pages describing: 
- educational expectations
 - career aspirations
 - research experience
 - special qualifications
 - which faculty or research programs at UMass Chan with which you would like to engage
 
 - Resume or CV
 - Three letters of recommendation from individuals who are able to assess past academic performance, research experience, and prospective success in doctoral level work
 - International applicants are required to submit an official course-by-course evaluation from a NACES member and unofficial TOEFL or IELTS scores.
