The revision of the APP defines and recognizes faculty achievements and scholarship in ALL the mission areas, advancing UMass Chan as an institution that embraces and leads in excellence across the breadth of biomedicine beyond the traditional areas of research/ investigation to include the important areas of health care delivery, public policy, population health, and education.  The ability to recruit and retain outstanding faculty is based on multiple factors, including the collaborative environment and collective excellence of the institution and its faculty.  Recruitment for research/ investigation is most affected by the high level of research being carried out by outstanding investigators in our institution and not by the APP.
