The Department of Radiology at UMass Memorial Medical Center, UMMMC, (www.umassmed.edu/radiology) performs over 1 million studies per year, across five hospitals and an outpatient imaging center. Current faculty include 65+ fellowship trained Radiologists, all practicing in organ or modality-based divisions, and a 24/7/365 Emergency Radiology Division. The department trains 5 Residents per year (20 total) and currently has 9 dedicated clinical fellowships The department has an enterprise-wide PACS system (AGFA and TeraRecon), as well as EPIC EMR. The main department and outpatient imaging center in Worcester have 6 MRIs (including a new GE Pioneer 3T system), 7 CTs, including a Siemens “flash” and two Siemens 128 Definition Edge CTs.
UMMMC and the Comprehensive Stroke Center of Massachusetts are the largest health care system in Central Massachusetts, covering over 1 million patients. We are the clinical partner of UMass Chan Medical School, with access to the latest technology, research cores, and clinical trials. In addition to our fully equipped medical centers, our system also includes home health and hospice programs, behavioral health programs and community-based physician practices. UMass Memorial is located in Central Massachusetts and is close to all the lifestyle benefits of New England, including Boston, Cape Cod, and numerous other surrounding recreational areas. Our faculty live in or close to downtown Boston and enjoy a hassle-free “Reverse” commute to Worcester. Other faculty members live closer to the University, both within the city of Worcester and the neighboring towns such as Shrewsbury and Westborough.
