OMERO is available at the BioImage DMS Core for use by scientists on campus

Do not hesitate to contact us, and we will help you get started.

The OMERO server provides a glue to connect image data with data curation, analysis, visualization and publication tools

OMERO is an integrated open-source client-server solution that provides a platform for annotating, organizing, visualizing, and analyzing image data. It can be used to build customized pipelines or integrate with existing applications to manage the complete pre-publication image-data life-cycle, including facilitating sharing data with colleagues and collaborators and making figures for publications.

OMERO provides the following functionalities that are designed to address the needs of scientists, developers, and institutions:

  1. Image data organization
  2. Image data remote visualization.
  3. Metadata annotation
  4. Integrated image analysis
  5. Figure creation for publication
  6. Image data publication and sharing.
The figure describes the OMERO server and it's target users.

OMERO can be combined with metadata annotation template spreadsheets and Micro-Meta App for NIH-compliant image data management and sharing.

The figure describes the ability of the OMERO server to support the integration of different aspects of the image data life-cycle.

The OMERO repository serves as a "glue" to support the full bioimage data life cycle, from image acquisition, to metadata annotation, image analysis, figure making and publication.
