Mengqi (Maggie) Yang, PhD
Research Associate/ Lab Manager, Sontheimer Lab
Maggie joined the lab in 2024. She earned her PhD from King’s College London, where she studied chaperone protein function in budding yeast. Since joining the Sontheimer lab, she has been involved in anti-CRISPR studies and base editing research.
Her current work focuses on developing an optimized imperfect-gRNA (igRNA) library to minimize potential bystander effects in single-base editing, and aims to refine base editing strategies for correcting the SOD1 gene as a potential therapy for ALS.
