c. Moderate-to-brisk exercise for 30 minutes at least 3 times a week.
This means a level of exertion that is achieved by activities like brisk walking, gardening, bicycling, or swimming laps. At least 30 minutes of exercise is recommended on "most days." Recently it has become clear that 60 minutes of daily exercise provides a somewhat greater overall health benefit than does 30 minutes; however there is not yet specific information concerning stroke risk reduction.
