Lessons in Learning
A narrative storytelling initiative that invites faculty from UMass Chan Medical School and its regional campuses—UMass Chan–Lahey and UMass Chan–Baystate—to reflect on and share formative learning moments that shape how they teach, learn, and lead. Through written essays (800–1,500 words), and optional audio or video storytelling, the program elevates personal experiences—such as unexpected outcomes, challenges, or growth after failure—to foster reflection, spark engagement, and strengthen community. Submissions are reviewed by narrative editors to ensure clarity and alignment with the program’s purpose, and accepted narratives are published on a HEALL SharePoint site accessible to the full UMass Chan community, highlighting the human experiences that make learning meaningful and transformative.
