Centering the Margins: multidisciplinary approaches to the intersection between health systems and justice-involved individuals and their intersectional identities

Event Description
The presentation and panel discussion will include representatives sharing their healthcare reentry journeys, a provider coordinating care, and a navigator or reentry provider. Participants will be able to: Discuss the scope of the criminal legal system and how many people it affects, and the demographics of the population, describe how a history of legal involvement leads to barriers impacting determinants of health and list how barriers lead to tangible risks to health.

Through discussion and individual reflection, participants will hone their leadership skills and learn how to apply new frameworks to inspire others and create an inclusive culture at UMass Chan Medical School.
