Elizabeth Flynn grew up in Massachusetts and received her BA from the College of the Holy Cross in 2019. She gained experience in translational research and molecular diagnostics as a technician at Massachusetts General Hospital and the Wyss Institute, where she worked on RNA sequencing technologies and single-molecule detection assays. In 2021, she joined the UMass Chan Morningside Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences PhD program, where she investigates how siRNA modifications influence RISC loading, processing, and overall therapeutic efficacy. Her work focuses on understanding how chemical modifications affect RISC processing to inform siRNA design for new targets and enable the development of optimally designed siRNAs. Outside the lab, Lizzie enjoys hiking, watercolor painting, line dancing, and reading fiction.
