Nozomi Yamada grew up in Japan, where she received her BS from Gunma University in 2010 and MS from Tokyo Institute of Technology in 2012. When she was a MS student in Professor Mitsuo Sekine’s Lab, she learned nucleic acid chemistry. Before joining the RNA Therapeutics Institute at UMass Chan Medical School in 2021, she worked as a clinical data manager at Tohoku University Hospital, Japan. In the lab, Nozomi assists multiple projects in terms of nucleoside, oligonucleotide, and conjugate synthesis and biochemical assays to validate the platforms. Outside of the lab, Nozomi enjoys reading, painting, cooking, and spending time with her family.
