Shirley Lee

Shirley Lee completed her undergraduate studies in 2015 at Brock University, where she studied in DNA damage and repair. She went on to study myelination in the context of Multiple Sclerosis at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute (2015-2017) and later explored the science behind the aggregation of ⍺-synuclein in Parkinson’s Disease at the German Centre for Neurodegenerative Diseases (2018-2022). Her passion for oligonucleotide therapeutics emerged during her time at Eli Lilly (2023-present), which has led her to join the Watts Lab in 2025. Outside the lab, Shirley enjoys spending time with her pets.
