Departmental Faculty Physician Launch Program
Welcome to the UMass Chan Medical School (UMass Chan) and the Department of Psychiatry! Your successful development as an academic physician is important to us and to help orient you to the variety of resources, we have here at UMASS, new faculty will be invited to participate in the Department of Psychiatry’s Faculty Physician Launch Program. This program will provide career mentoring and information on the faculty career and professional development resources available at UMass. The CDRO will email new professionals one month before their start date, to invite them to participate in the half-day Physician Launch Program sessions.
The program includes the following components:
- Career Coaching Session: Mary Ahn, M.D.
- Faculty Appointments and Promotions Consultation: Janice Robert, Project Coordinator, Academic Affairs & Career Development.
- Resources for Wellness and Health Coaching for Patients: Barbara Grimes-Smith, MPH, Program Director, Wellness Initiatives.
- Educational Opportunities: Auralyd Padilla, M.D., Associate Director, Psychiatry Residency Training
The Office of Faculty Affairs (OFA) also provides an overview at the institution level and assists new faculty in beginning a successful career at the UMass Chan Medical School (UMass Chan). These networking and information sessions will cover the following essential topics:
