Mentored Career Development in Community Engaged Research K12 Award (CER-K12)
The CER-K12 Award program supports the recruitment, career advancement, and long-term retention of qualified junior clinical and translational scientists committed to community-engaged research. This competitive award provides protected time for research and career-development activities, and guidance from a mentoring team, leading to research independence through K-, R-, or other grants. It also offers the possibility of a tenure-track appointment following the successful completion of the award for awardees in basic science departments or selected clinical departments. The CER-K12 program is administered in parallel to the NIH-funded Institutional Career Development K12 program. To date, six faculty members have received this award.
