MCCB Events & Engagement

MCCB fosters an inclusive and supportive environment through a wide range of events, from social gatherings and milestone celebrations to professional development opportunities such as information sessions and special events like our Science Success Stories webinar. These initiatives encourage connection and professional growth, and contribute to a positive workplace culture that supports all members of the department.

MCCB also comes together each year to raise money for and participate in the UMass Cancer Walk, bringing faculty, students, postdoctoral researchers, and staff together in support of cancer research. This shared effort reflects the department’s collaborative spirit and commitment to the work we do.

Social & Celebratory Events

Judy Mondor dedicated 43 years to UMass Chan, including 26 years in our department (originally with PGFE before its transition to MCCB), helping to shape the supportive and collaborative community we know today. Her long-standing commitment, generosity, and steady presence left a lasting mark on colleagues and the department alike.

In January, the department gathered to celebrate Judy’s many years of service to both the department and UMass Chan.

Community Engagement

The UMass Chan Cancer Research Team is MCCB's fundraising team for the annual UMass Cancer Walk. Every year, MCCB faculty, students, postdoctoral researchers and staff—along with our families and friends—join together to raise funds and take part in the UMass Cancer Walk to advance cancer research.
